Angry Birds Seasons Topped by Eighth Grader’s Game

There was a time when Angry Birds dominated nearly every corner of the mobile gaming spectrum. Those days are now behind us, because the Christmas-themed Angry Birds Seasons has been dethroned, and a new app has claimed the highest spot in the App Store’s Top Free category.

The game in question is Bubble Ball, and it was created by a 14-year old eighth grader and his mom. Robert Nay had studied programming before, so he worked on that aspect of the game as well as the art while his mother helped design the stages.

See what all the fuss is about by downloading the game to your iPhone or Android. It’s free anyway, so you really don’t have anything to lose. Although, after checking out some user reviews on iTunes, it seems you may lose a lot of your time playing the game. Bubble Ball sure is an addictive little free app.
