Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer will release in Japan soon, and along side it comes the debut of "amiibo Card Series: Animal Crossing Series 1" which will have a total of 100 cards available at launch. To obtain cards, fans will have to purchase blind packs and hope for the best, much like popular the popular Pokemon Trading Card Game, or any TCG in general.
In Japan, packs will come with three cards, one of which will be "special" in a yet to be specified manner. The asking price will be 300 yen, which is the rough equivalent of $2.50 US. The NA and EU regions will feature blind packs as well, but they'll be packs of six. Their is no pricing information for the West as of now.
What's particularly interesting is the series name. Yo dawg, I heard you like card series amiibo, so I put series inside your series so you can collect while you…weep as your hopes of collecting them all via conventional means, at a reasonable price are dashed on the craggy shores of despair.
