Among all the details revealed during last month's official unveiling of Star Wars Battlefront was the fact that vehicles would be included. Already confirmed vehicles include ships like TIE Fighters and X-wings that can fly within the atmosphere (no space battles planned yet), as well as ground vehicles like AT-ATs and speeder bikes.
Today, DICE confirmed another playable vehicle: the AT-ST.

The All Terrain Scout Transport — AT-ST for short (or "chicken walker") — is a light, heavily-armed, ground-combat vehicle able to trek various environments. Though designed as more of a recon vehicle, the AT-ST is equipped with a medium, chin-mounted, doubled blaster cannon, and armor capable of withstanding standard blaster fire. However, seeing as how it's lighter than the larger, more heavily-armored AT-AT, it's vulnerable to heavy laser fire and missiles (as seen in the trailer above). Of course, the Ewoks found another weakness in Return of the Jedi — destroying an AT-ST by using logs to ram the sides of the walker's head.
Though the inclusion of the AT-ST as a playable vehicle is to be expected, it'll be interesting to see how all the different vehicles in Star Wars Battlefront will mesh together and how people choose to use it in battle.
Star Wars Battlefront will release on November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. (November 19 in Europe).
