Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale shooter Apex Legends launches tomorrow on Steam. Eager players who want to get in the action prepared can now preload the game. Head on over to the game’s Steam website to download the game!
Players of Apex Legends are enjoying the start of Season 7 which starts today. So, how fitting then that the Steam userbase enters the world of EA’s popular battle royale title with a breadth of new content.
Season 7 brings with it a brand-new map titled Olympus. The futuristic new battleground is a floating city, and thus offers brilliant vistas while players duke it out.
The other notable addition in the new season is the introduction of the new ‘Legend’ hero character Horizon. Her skill set is a perfect match for Olympus’ uniqueness. The time-traveling scientist brings gravity-defying abilities into the mix.
Seeing how Olympus floats, Horizon’s Gravity Lift ability will surely lead to many out-of-bounds frags. Fans of fast-movement can use her Spacewalk passive ability which lets her survive falls from large heights. Last but not least, Horizon can spawn a literal Black Hole that sucks other players in before releasing a powerful blast.
As you can see, the timing of the Steam release for Apex Legends is pretty great. Without a doubt, it will bring tons of new players who avoided the game simply because it wasn’t available on the popular PC gaming client.
This marks one of the biggest steps in the newfound partnership between EA and Valve. The game publisher previously launched its game subscription service EA Play on Steam and brought tons of its Origin-exclusive titles as well.
In an age where Epic is doing its utmost to shake up the PC gaming scene, EA’s grand return to Steam is a big win for the platform.
