Apparently Sony “Held Back” On E3 2017, Says Shuhei Yoshida

Today, President of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida spoke to Indonesian gaming site JagatPlay about PlayStation's E3 conference that took place Monday night.

When asked whether or not there were plans to show "something bigger" at PlayStation Experience or Tokyo Game Show later in the year, Yoshida said:

‘’We have no plans to talk about [Sic], but there are things we have held – we chose not to show during this E3 –  of course there will be some more news coming out of our teams later this year.’’

While part of this seems to be typical PR talk, it does lead us to believe that Sony Worldwide Studios still has some cards in their hand that they decided to hold on to, as opposed to revealing their entire hand at E3. It's interesting, considering many believe PlayStation to have "won" E3, right up there with Nintendo's press conference.

It does make sense, however, as many viewers were expecting to see the game Sucker Punch Productions has been working on with their 110-man team pulling work hours for over three years.

Regardless, PlayStation announced a number of great reveals at their conference, including Monster Hunter World and a Shadow of Colossus remake. Despite many of their announced games being 2018 releases, PlayStation continues to knock it out of the park and hopefully, their announced titles continue this trend.
