Arcade beat-’em-up Curses ‘N Chaos coming to PS4 next week

Developer Tribute Games today announced that their latest title, Curses 'N Chaos, will release on PS4 and PS Vita August 18.

A tribute to the arcades of the late 20th century, Curse 'N Chaos is done up in unabashedly retro visuals and chip-tune music, Tribute President Jonathan Lavigne said on the PlayStation Blog. It's a no-tricks 2D beat-'em-up, save for the addition of an alchemy mechanic which lets you combine items.

"It's about going to an acrade with a friend and joining forces to face that weird, hardcore, single-screen, fantasy, sci-fi mashup action game," Lavigne said of the game. Still, Curses 'N Chaos isn't entirely in the past; the $9.99 game is sporting such modern features as PlayStation TV support and ad hoc Vita support.

Tribute Games' roster includes Mercenary Kings, another 2D action game (and a fine one, at that), and Wizorb, a somewhat Zelda-inspired adventure game. Curses 'N Chaos will launch on PC and Mac in addition to PS Vita and PS4.
