Areal is the new open-world, post-apocalyptic game from the makers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Fledgling independent studio West Games has announced its debut title: Areal, an ostensibly non-linear post-apocalyptic game drawing on the talent of the minds behind Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R..

West Games is a studio of pedigree and consists of members from teams experienced with survival-centric titles. However, concept art is all the studio has shown to date, though a Kickstarter is planned for Areal and will likely include more advanced and detailed assets.

The game’s official site is crowned by a multicolored and almost reptilian canine, not far from a wolf in terms of physique, and wears the same bursting color as Areal’s conceptual environments. West Games has already made it clear that they will not be following the humdrum brown and grey aesthetic that the end of the world typically—and admittedly, logically—bears, which is reason enough to keep an eye on Areal.
