ARK: Survival Evolved dev settles Trendy lawsuit with undisclosed amount of money

Money talks.

Earlier this year ARK: Survival Evolved was threatened with being temporarily shut down thanks to a lawsuit from Trendy Entertainment.

The lawsuit from Trendy claimed that former Trendy president Jeremy Stieglitz breached his non-compete contract with Trendy by helping develop ARK: Survival Evolved with developers he stole from Trendy. Trendy's owner Insight Ventures, claimed that Stieglitz owed Trendy 20% share in any game related activity he engaged in for five years after leaving the studio.

According to reports from Gamasutra, although Studio Wildcard called the lawsuit a "salacious tabloid story," iy appears they have reached an agreement with Trendy/Insight in the form of tons of money.

At first, it was said that Jeremy Stieglitz owed Insight $26 million according to to a court filing. However, Susan Stieglitz tweeted that Trendy was looking for "600 million" from the Studio Wildcard developer. The amount that was settled on has not been disclosed, but it's safe to say that someone made quite a bit of money.
