Ark: Survival Evolved Full Release Delayed

Gotta wait for respawn.

Ark: Survival Evolved has been in Early Access for quite a while now. The full release has been teased for some time. It's was set to release next week, August 8, but Studio Wildcard has stated that it will now be delayed.

On their website, Studio Wildcard shared the news of the pushback to August 29. They stated that while the game has gone gold (which is Xbox-language for "finished development but still polishing") the process "took a little longer than expected."

This launch was supposed to come paired with the Ragnorak DLC, so it, unfortunately, has been delayed as well.

“This extended time will allow further development of the map and you guys can expect a gigantic update, even bigger than we initially thought.” The post said. This means the game finally launches, the world will be much larger. According to Studio Wildcard, "approximately one quarter, which is near-enough a ‘TheIsland-sized’ expansion.”

Besides just having the full game on consoles, the full release brings even more to the table. This includes new PvP servers and private servers on consoles. The DLC will also add new biomes, a Wyvern canyon on the coast, a new boss, and a few more secret additions we haven't been told about.

Lastly, Wildcard has promised patches to fix performance issues and griefing currently in the game between now and full release. Additionally, they've apologized for the delay, "We’re deeply apologetic for those who were negatively affected by the delay; it sucks, it wasn’t what we had wanted, nor planned but where we currently stand. We wanted to address this sooner but did not want to make any statements until we were completely sure of what was going to happen.”

Ark: Survival Evolved has doubled its price for full release. For those who owned it at the lower price previously, no additional purchase is necessary.
