ARK: Survival Evolved recently got a price hike in preparation for the game to transition into full release. Until now, the game had been in beta, and as it nears release, the developers, Studio Wildcard, found that a price hike would be warranted. So ARK: Survival Evolved now costs $60 and Dean Hall of DayZ finds that to be outrageous.
Just so we're clear on my opinion: the price increase for Ark is ****ing OUTRAGEOUS.

Many fans have criticized Studio Wildcard for their price hike, but the voice that rings out the most is Dean Hall's on Twitter.
Hall thinks ARK is "nowhere near ready" for a full release, and as such, is not worth $60, stating that the move "represents a huge disconnect with the community."
Despite Hall being from a competitor, the original DayZ mod for Arma 2, he makes the point to state that he's a "huge fan" of ARK: Survival Evolved and merely thinks this will set a "terrible precedent," claiming "If you want to charge an AAA price, have an AAA state.”
Ark: Survival Evolved officially comes out of Early Access on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on August 8. Dean Hall, no longer working on the Arma 2 mod for DayZ, works at his own studio, RocketWerks, creating Stationeers.
