Armored Core V tops the sales chart in Japan

The sales for the last week of January are in, and Armored Core V for PS3 is at the top of the list as it sold 164,000 units.

Not far behind Armored Core V is Resident Evil Revelations for the 3DS as it sold 147,000 units surpassing its predecessor, Resident Evil Mercenaries, which only sold just under 60,000 units.

Other players behind the heavy hitting titles of Armored Core and Resident Evil were holiday favorites such as Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and Monster Hunter 3G, which sold 29,230, 23,003 and 27,032 respectively. Also, if you are wondering how PlayStation Vita games are faring in Japan, only one made the list. Of course, it did come in at No. 3 behind Armored Core V and Resident Evil Revelations and interestinglly enough is Tales of Innocence R, which is a remake of a Tales game from the Nintendo DS.

On the other side of that, the 3DS holds almost half of the list with seven titles making it into the top 20 last week. It seems like the PlayStation Vita has some catching up to do in Japan.

If you'd like to see all the games on the top 20, the entire list can be seen here. [Andriasang]
