ARMS Update Teases a New Fighter, But Dataminers Found 9 New Names in the Roster

Nine!?

ARMS, the latest Nintendo brawler making use of motion controls, has found success on the new platform. After its recent release, ARMS got free new DLC which added a new character called The Commish. The developers have talked about the future of ARMS and their aim to remain in the spotlight. This includes new updates, the latest of which teases at a new character. But data miners have found 9 new names on the roster.

The official ARMS Twitter account has announced that its August update will be rolling out this week. Aside from balance changes, they teased a new addition to the game.

Translated by JTYaku.net, the tweet says,

"Breaking news! Information from the ARMS Corporation Top Level has been delivered:

[A balance adjustment update is planned for implementation in the middle of next week]

Other than that, are there any other happy additions, or not? Please wait for a follow up report!”

This was, of course, before the datamining. It looks like there may be additional characters planned in future free updates, one of which might be planned for later this week.

ARMS Update Teases a New Fighter, But Dataminers Found 9 New Names in the Roster

The fighter's names were posted on Reddit, but the names may be code or nicknames for existing characters. Whether they're planned characters, existing characters, or altogether scrapped characters remains to be seen, but we'll let you determine that for yourself:

  • Belt (Max Brass)
  • Chain
  • Coil
  • DNA (Helix)
  • Hair (Twintelle)
  • Mee (Min Min)
  • Mummy (Mummy)
  • Ninja (Ninjara)
  • Plant
  • Police (Byte and Bark)
  • Ribbon (Ribbon Girl)
  • Robo
  • Scroll
  • Snake (Kid Cobra)
  • Spring (Spring Man)
  • Sumo
  • Surprise
  • Sweet
  • Twintale
  • Worker (Mechanica)
  • BossHead (Hedlok)
  • RNA (Dummies)

Ignoring the names assumed to be existing characters, that leaves us nine fighters that are currently not accounted for. Will we be seeing all nine over time? Or at least some of these? Is ARMS taking a note from Overwatch in its slow-drip of new characters? Apparently, we'll have to wait and see.

Keep it tuned to GameZone for details on the new update coming this week.
