There's been quite a few releases in the Assassin's Creed franchise recently, but still, 73 million is a big number.
Ubisoft announced today that their stealth/assassin/action/faux-history franchise has reached 73 million copies sold. The series has seen a total of 15 titles since 2007, releasing on nearly every platform not named the Nintendo Wii. Yes, that even includes mobile entries such as Altair's Chronicles and Assassin's Creed: Pirates.
Two more entries in the franchise will be released later this year: Assassin's Creed Unity will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC while Assassin's Creed Comet will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC. Could we see that number rise to 80 million by year's end? Possibly; it helps when you're releasing two games a year.
