Assassin’s Creed III box art revealed

Ubisoft has finally made their "big announcement", revealing the box art for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed III.  Finally putting an end to the recent rumors, the Assassin's Creed III box art confirms the next installment to the popular franchise will, in fact, take place during the American Revolution.

Today and yesterday, we've been receiving small tidbits and rumors hinting that the game would take place during the Revolutionary War.  Now, we can finally say, with confidence, that it will.

The box art, which can be seen below, shows the game's new protagonist, hatchet in hand, about to slay a British soldier.

Details surrounding the new Assassin's Creed III game are sparse at the moment.  What we do know for sure is that the  game will feature a new protagonist and that it will release on October 30th.

Ubisoft is holding a "special briefing" next week for Assassin's Creed III where they will reveal many of the game's details including the background, storyline, and the new hero who will replace Ezio.
