Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Origins in the last week of October and while the studio isn't ready to talk specifics when it comes to sales numbers, they have revealed one thing. Assassin's Creed Origins has sold double the amount that its predecessor, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, did.
According to Ubisoft's most recent earnings call. Origins is selling 100% better than Syndicate did in its first 10 days. The sales breakdown shows a jump in digital sales for Origins as well. When Syndicate released, sales were at 15% digital and for Origins it's sitting at 35% digital sales.
Back in 2015, Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Syndicate and unfortunately for Ubisoft, Syndicate saw poor sales. After Syndicate released, Ubisoft decided that taking a break from the Assassin's Creed franchise was the best move.
It's possible that the absence of the annually released franchise in 2016 made the heart grow fonder and spike sales for Origins, but there's no way to tell. All we know is that sales have increased dramatically.
