Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass holders will get a free game

Ubisoft apologizes for buggy launch

Assassin's Creed Unity didn't pan out the way Ubisoft hoped it would. As a new-gen only title, people were hopeful that it won't only look amazing (which it does) but also play amazing. The latter wasn't so true. While the game itself was decent, too many game breaking bugs seemed to plague a lot of gamers, making their experience unbearable.

Of course, this angered Season Pass holders as they payed Ubisoft in advance for future content, only to be disappointed by the base game. Ubisoft's Yannis Mallat has responded about Season Passes as well as future content in a post on the Ubi Blog today.

To show our appreciation for your continued support, we’re making the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC free for everyone. For Season Pass holders, we will also offer the choice of one additional game from a selection of Ubisoft titles for free. More details on the offer for Season Pass holders can be found here: AC Unity FAQ

Essentially, everyone who purchased Assassin's Creed Unity will now have free access to the Dead Kings DLC that will be released at a future time. Those who purchased a Season Pass will also get a free Ubisoft game of their choice from the following games:

  • The Crew
  • Far Cry 4
  • Watch Dogs
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
  • Rayman Legends
  • Just Dance 2015

Ubisoft is still working on the system on how they will proceed with giving Season Pass holders a free game, and they will announce that at a later date.
