Warner Bros. Interactive released a new trailer for their assassination simulator Hitman 2. The video is light on gameplay, but we get to see the iconic actor Sean Bean being unveiled as the first Elusive Target in Hitman 2. Despite Bean’s most acting jobs, it doesn’t look like death will come easy to him this time.
Sean Bean has long risen to cult status among movie fans for constantly meeting his end as the character he portrays. Developer IO Interactive is very well aware of this and asks players to continue the movie tradition now in game-form. IOI is going full in on the actor’s penchant of dying and returning again and again, by making him play the role of Mark Faba. A former MI5 agent who became a master assassin.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the upcoming Hitman 2 video game,” Bean said in a press release. “It’s always exciting to take on a new role, and I’m looking forward to everyone seeing my character in action when the mission launches.” – Sean Bean
Known as “The Undying”, players of Hitman 2 will have the opportunity to ultimately put Faba six feet in the ground. But be aware, as an elusive target, there’s only one chance to assassinate Faba. If you mess up, that’s it. No more second chances. The business of death is harsh after all.
Securing such a well-known actor for their game is a pretty great feat for the newly-independent studio and will no doubt help create excitement. Naturally, IO Interactive studio head Hakan Abrak is happy with today’s unveiling.
“We’re very excited to partner with the talented Sean Bean on the first Elusive Target mission in HITMAN 2. Elusive Targets have become a distinguishing trait in Hitman games as part of the constant stream of free live content for all players to enjoy. This new mission starring Sean Bean is one of many updates, features, modes and franchise firsts coming to HITMAN 2, making the next chapter in our ever-expanding world of assassination a richer game for our passionate community and newcomers to the series.” – Hakan Abrak, IO Interactive
Hitman 2 comes out November 13 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. You can pre-order Hitman 2 on its official website now and play the pre-order exclusive Sniper Assassin Mode immediately.
