Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gets New Quests and more this November

Post-launch support in full swing

Ubisoft has announced all the new content coming to their historical action-RPG Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. No doubt, the highlight inclusions of the November content update are multiple new story missions and the appearance of a mythical monster from ancient Greek mythology.

The November update contains a ton more, so make sure to check out the dedicated update trailer for an overview or head on to the blog post where all new content is described in great detail.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey marks a big step for the seasoned franchise by sailing full speed ahead into GAAS territory. Titles like Destiny and the upcoming Anthem which are entirely built with the Games-as-a-Service business model are sign of what AAA games are heading towards. It’s the idea of an ever-evolving and long living game that retains a large player base over several years. To achieve this, GAAS games continuously receive new content, most as free content updates.

What has started with Origins, is now fully realized with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Ubisoft clearly wants this game to last for longer than usual. Proof is the announcement that Assassin’s Creed will not get a new entry next year. Instead, it’s new post-launch content like today’s which is aimed to keep players hooked.

In that sense, this November monthly update looks to be a pretty great contribution. Of course, there are loads of items bundled like new outfits, weapons. Even new ship designs, cosmetic items and more. But these are pretty much expected additions at this point.

The meatier features in the update are two new story missions, dubbed Lost Tale of Greece. The first one will let players assume the role of King Leonidas during the Battle of 300. It’s the cult setting also depicted in Zack Snyder’s movie 300. The second questline will see players fight through divine trials.

These sound nice but if you want to fight a new enemy, you’ll be thrilled to learn that on November 13, you’ll be able to fight an actual Cyclops. Emerging victorious from this The Lightning Bringer quest will net you a Legendary Bow.

For players who decked out their assassin, new Epic Events will ask you to hunt down an Epic Mercenary and an Epic Ship. You’ll need to be above level 30 for these events but day-one players will have likely progressed beyond that already. Speaking of, with this month’s update, the level cap will be raised by another 20 steps.
