Assassin’s Creed Valhalla unveiled, Launches this Holiday season

After yesterday’s teaser, Ubisoft has now officially unveiled the next installment of their Assassin’s Creed series. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be taking players to the brutal and icy North of the legendary Vikings. You can look forward to playing it this Holiday season when it launches for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Watch the cinematic announcement trailer here!

Thanks to yesterday’s unusual teaser event, the setting of the new Assassin’s Creed wasn’t really a surprise anymore. Then again, we already knew it would feature the Vikings for quite a while now. Nonetheless, we now finally have confirmation that the series will make its return this Holiday. A nice feature the developer also stated, is that similar to Odyssey, you’ll be able to play the game either as a male or female, too.

While the franchise has produced tons of entries to this date, it’ll be over two years actually since the latest Assassin’s Creed launched with Odyssey. Add to the fact that Valhalla is going to be a cross-gen entry for the PS4, Xbox One & PS5, Xbox Series X, and there’s even more reason to be excited.

In Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla, you are Eivor, a fierce Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory. Explore a dynamic and beautiful open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages. Raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in your quest to earn your place among the gods in Valhalla.

While Ubisoft decided to only show a CG cinematic trailer, it’s admittedly awesome at setting the tone. Not only is it showing that contrary to popular belief, but the Vikings in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also won’t be monstrous barbarians. We get a glimpse at their belief system, social life, and more importantly, about locations.

Since players are going to assume to role of a Viking warrior, it comes with the territory that sailing is included. But if there were any doubts that Valhalla would also feature England, those are now dispersed for good. In fact, it looks like the island kingdom is going to be the major antagonist in the game.
