Asura’s Wrath delivers more sales than Syndicate

Both Asura's Wrath and Syndicate launched on Tuesday, February 21. As you may know, Asura's Wrath is a brand new IP from Capcom and developer CyberConnect2. Meanwhile Syndicate is a much-hyped reboot from EA, developed by Starbreeze Studios.

Surprisingly, the brand new franchise was the one to sell more in its first week. Considering Syndicate marked the revival of the old school tactical real-time shooter series, it's a bit strange to see it topped by a new IP. Strange, but kind of cool, really.

See, Asura's Wrath looked really damn awesome. The game ultimately delivered insane action and anime-inspired craziness. Syndicate, well, that was just a pretty good shooter. It had plenty to offer FPS fans, but it wasn't exactly mind-blowing or thrilling.

So when it turned out that Asura's Wrath sold 36,000 copies its first week while Syndicate sold 34,000, it's easy to see that it was well-deserved. For more on both games, check out GameZone's reviews of Asura's Wrath and Syndicate.
