Atari’s Centipede and Missile Command are going to get movie adaptations

I like mindless action films, I'll stay hopeful.

Atari and Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films have entered a partnership that will result in two film adaptations of two classic arcade games: Centipede and Missile Command.

Now, before you get on the "absolutely not" train, let's consider 2012's Battleship with Taylor Kitsch and Liam Neeson. Sure, the film didn't get the best reviews… It's sitting at 5.9/10 on IMDb and 34% on Rotten Tomatoes, but for anyone that enjoys mind numbing action movies – it's not that bad.

It was a movie based on a board game that had no real story, considering that Centipede and Missile Command have quite a bit going for them.

According to Deadline, Randall Emmett and George Furla are set to produce the films, and Atari's, Stephen Belafonte, Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones will be executive producers on the film projects.
