Just in time for Halloween, it appears that Atari’s Haunted House will be remade for the PC, Wii and Xbox Live Arcade sometime in October; and that’s just the beginning.
According to the online-video game rental service, Gamefly, Star Raiders and Centipede are both set to be released sometime next year, and are under development for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as full-scale retail releases.
Star Raiders was originally released in 1979, and inspired the “space combat simulation” games such as Wing Commander and LucasArt’s X-Wing series. Centipede, circa 1980, is a significant arcade coin-operated top-down shooter that was released by Atari and has been released/remade several times in its history. We will have more news on these titles as soon as there is an official statement.
