Atlus teases a new Catherine game during livestream

Time for more terrifying tales of why cheating is bad.

The studio mostly known for the Persona titles released a very unique and haunting game titled Catherine during the Xbox 360/PS3 generation. The game was about a man who struggled with infidelity, although he had a woman in his life by the name of Katherine he was way more attracted to a sexy blonde bombshell who shared the very similar name of Catherine. During the day, the player makes decisions on how he interacts with the women in his life and at night, he's haunted by nightmares where he must climb a seemingly endless tower while a giant woman chases him, destroying the platforms below you.

The problem lies in if you die in the dream, you die in real life. The game was pretty difficult but it was praised for its storytelling and mature themes. Roughly six years later, Atlus seems to be teasing a new Catherine game of some kind. Today, the studio held a recrutiment livestream which was hosted by Trisha, host of the Golden Playhouse. The Golden Playhouse was a fake TV show created within Catherine, the TV show would introduce segments of the game to players and Trisha would occasionally offer moral messages to the player.

At the end of the video, Trisha teases that she may be returning in some capacity in the near future. We're all hoping it's a new Catherine but it could just potentially be a new IP that has the framing of the Golden Playhouse. Would you like to see a Catherine sequel? Let us know in the comments below.

Players who want to play the first Catherine can play it on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One if they own the game on Xbox 360.
