August 2015’s Games with Gold announced for Xbox One and Xbox 360

Xbox 360 Games with Gold for August 2015

Metro: Last Light ($19.99) – August 16th through August 31st

A sequel to Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light takes place in the year 2034. Once again beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, the remnants of mankind now reside in the tunnels of the Metro, besieged by deadly threats from outside (and within). Rather than stand united against the mutants stalking them, the station-cities of the Metro constantly struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the miliary vaults of D6. "As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…"

Not a bad lineup by any means, but I would just like to point out that Microsoft is a bit late to the game. Ground Zeroes was made free to PlayStation Plus members in June. But who's really keeping track of petty stuff like that?

Xbox 360 Games with Gold for August 2015

Metro 2033 ($19.99) – August 1st through August 15th

Based on the internationally bestselling novel series by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro 2033 is set in the shattered subway of a post apocalyptic Moscow. It tells the story of intensive underground survival where the fate of mankind rests in your hands.

Xbox One Games with Gold for August 2015

How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition ($19.99) – August 16th through August 15th

Complete with the original crafting survival zombie nightmare plus its six DLC packs, How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition is more fun and tougher than ever. The premise is simple, yet difficult: survive on a zombie infested archipelago, fulfilling your basic needs of food, water, and shelter while facing natural and unnatural threats.

Is it August already? While we've still got a few more days left in July, Microsoft has already gone ahead and given us a look at next month's free games through their Games with Gold promotion. For August, Xbox LIVE Gold members are in for quite a treat as four new games — two on Xbox One, two on Xbox 360 — will be made available free of charge.

Xbox One

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes ($19.99) – August 1st through August 31st

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is the first of a two-part segment of the "Metal Gear Solid 5 Experience" and is a perfect lead up to this year's The Phantom Pain which is releasing in September. In this latest chapter, you take Big Boss into a high-security Cuban military base on a daring rescue mission which gives just a taste of the presentation and gameplay we can expect this September.
