Avalanche Studios are aware of Just Cause 3’s technical problems, promise a fix

Just Cause 3 launched on December 1st, and it didn't take long for everyone to become well aware of just how bad the game runs. Now granted, mileage may vary, but for the most part, many players, especially console ones, are having issues with bad framerate, crashes and slowdown. Hell, it was my primary factor in not actually finishing the game, which sucks because I actually really loved the mechanics.

The good news is that Avalanche Studios, the devs behind the game, are aware of the issues. A day later, they took to their blog and acknowledged that they have heard the cries and the pleas, and that it will take them some time to replicate and then fix these issues.

However, we know that some of you are encountering some technical issues – we’re looking into them all and we’re fully committed to providing you the best possible experience.

We know you’re going to want specific information on when a patch will land and what will be fixed – we would love to give you that information, and we will as soon as we have it. But right now, a little over one day since we launched, we have huge numbers of players in our enormous game world and we’re monitoring all the data coming in.

We need a little bit of time to recreate some of these issues and build fixes. Rest assured though – we are fully committed to making Just Cause 3 as awesome as possible. We already know loads of people are having a blast with the game but we’ll do all we can to make sure everyone is laughing and smiling as they play.

If they want my advice? Boot the game up on a console. Those framerate problems can be replicated just minutes into the game. But on a more serious note, I'm glad they're not only aware, but made mention of it publicly. Just Cause 3 is a great game that I really want to recommend to anyone who likes causing chaos and having fun with the game's physics. But at the same time, when a game can't even process all of this happening in a cohesive way that's smooth and without any framerate issues, I just can't bring myself to reccomend it right now. Here's to hoping these issues are fixed sooner, rather than later. Until then, I'll be exploring more of Mira and perhaps dabble a bit in post-apocalyptic Boston, the islands of Medici can wait.
