I sunk countless hours into Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii back in 2010. That game was so ridiculously addictive and so incredibly rewarding that I even skipped work just to play it. Of course, I'm not talking about my awesome games writing gig. No, I skipped some odd job I was working Saturday nights at a sleazy nightclub.
Ah, those were the days … or nights, rather. Monster Hunter Tri truly is a great game. That's why the fact that it's being ported to the 3DS in North America means that I'll probably play it again. I already have a backlog full of games that I haven't even touched, and these titles are now going to take a backseat to a newer version of a game I already played practically endlessly two years ago.
Check out some screens of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the 3DS. They're enough to make me want to play the game one more time. If you're already a fan, I hope they do the same thing to you. And if you're not, then I hope these screens entice you to make the purchase when the game launches for the 3DS and Wii U.
Looks like I'm going to have to shell out the cash for the Circle Pad Pro.
