Awesome Mortal Kombat 11 launch trailer embraces iconic theme music

Mortal Kombat 11 just got its launch trailer and it’s a doozy. The sweet teaser for the game’s launch next Tuesday, April 23rd is a pure love letter to the franchise with a remixed score of the legendary 1995 Mortal Kombat movie theme song “Techno Syndrome”. Check it out!

Only a few days until the next chapter of the legendary, brutal fighting series kicks of with Mortal Kombat 11. Ever since the reveal event, we have been extensively reporting on MK11 and for good reason. The juggernaut of the fighting game scene is bound to yet again break sales records with its rather fascinating setting and story. The Mortal Kombat lore got understandably convoluted and complex over its 27 year lifespan, but MK11 is looking to take things to the next level by introducing & mixing time travel and multiple dimensions.

The overall story is still about bringing order to the worlds and saving earth but this time there’s a hefty portion of comedy thrown in for good measure, as was seen in the character trailer for Johnny Cage. There are now two different versions of the smug fighter. The seasoned veteran and the edgy 90s one.

The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control of your fighters to make them your own. The new graphics engine showcases every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, bringing you so close to the fight you can feel it. Featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best-in-class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.

Behind all these time shenanigans is Kronika. A new character and from what we’ve seen so far a major focus of Mortal Kombat 11’s narrative. As the “Keeper of Time”, her goal is to bring back balance to the messed up universe of Mortal Kombat. No doubt, this will lead to several figures joining allegiances against here.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches April 23rd for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Every pre-order also gets exclusive access to Shao Khan. So, don’t forget to buy the game early, if you want to play as the iconic evil emperor.
