Axiom Verge reveals Steam PC release date with Vita to come

All the consoles

There are true Metroidvania games, there are true Metroidvania games, and then there is Axiom Verge. If you’ve yet to get your grubby little hands on this gem, haven’t had the time, hasn’t been on a console you own yet… look, I don’t care about your excuses. Come May 14th, you’ll be able to buy it on Steam PC thus all your excuses are moot.

If that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, how about the announcement that Axiom Verge will be releasing on the PlayStation Vita at an unknown date? Pretty sweet eh? Apparently people like/want great things thus they should have a full gambit of consoles to pick and choose where/how they play great games.

Features include:

  • Explore an expansive non-linear alien world with more than 900 unique, interlocking rooms.
  • Gobs of unique tools and abilities, loads of weapons, and tons of health/power/attribute upgrades.
  • Battle with unique creatures and gigantic screen-filling bosses.
  • Utilize retro-styled "glitches" to break past the boundaries of normal gameplay.
  • Dedicated Speedrun Mode – Play a streamlined mode for speedrunners that strips out all story elements and includes a built-in timer with milestone time tracking.
  • Future PlayStation Vita release planned (cross-buy supported with PlayStation 4).
  • Hearing voices in your head while playing the game is optional.
