Following the unveiling of DICE's new Frostbite 3 engine, which will be used for Battlefield 4, BioWare has confirmed two of their upcoming games will also take advantage of the powerful game engine. Dragon Age 3 and Mass Effect 4, or the "next Mass Effect" as BioWare wants it to be called, are both using the new engine, BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn said.
"For everyone who's been asking after the #BF4 reveal, #DA3 and the next Mass Effect are also using Frostbite 3. It's awesome," he tweeted.
As Eurogamer points out, this could be bad news for Wii U gamers, as Frostbite 3 doesn't support the Wii U at the moment. DICE's Patrick Bach told the site at GDC that the Wii U is "not part of our focus right now." As we learned over the weekend, DICE decided to skip out on bringing Battlefield 4 to the Wii U, instead opting for his team to "play it safe" and deliver something "really good."
