Bad news/good news for Apple fans who bought the Steam Link or Steam Controller

It’s kind of nice to see a company back up their products when things go wrong and try and make things right, which is what’s happening for Apple users who recently purchased the Steam Link or Steam Controller only to find the products not cooperating.

To compensate disappointed consumers, Valve has issued apology emails which promise to not only these issues addressed and fixed, but will also be giving those affected the Valve Complete Pack, which gives access to all currently released Valve games and any Valve games that are released in the future.

"We want to apologize for the delays in providing full functionality for the Mac platform," reads the email "We're doing everything we can to resolve the issues. For the latest fixes and functionality, we recommend that you opt in to the Steam client beta."

As it currently stands, the Steam Link isn’t capable of streaming from Macs and the controller isn’t able to support emulation for them either, however, Valve has assured an update to remedy that is in the works and will be complete within the next few weeks.

While this is a great method of customer care, for those who are either too frustrated or not willing to wait for a patch, Valve is also extending their return policy to 60 days with free postage (but you get to keep your Complete Pack). As one of those affected, it’s a bit of a bummer to have to wait a little longer, but it’s impressive to see a company back up their mistakes by not only admitting them, apologizing for them, but do something nice to fix the problem.
