Two former RedLynx developers have revealed multiplayer plans for their first game — a picturesque side-scrolling action-adventure due in March called Badland.
Johannes Vuorinen and Juhana Myllys (Trials Evolution, Motoheroz) of the Helsinki, Finland-based studio Frogmind announced that their iOS game features local multiplayer for up to four players on the same device. It's a "survival of the fittest" type gameplay where you can push your opponent into circular saws, for example, to get ahead. It follows a no-rules mindset.
Frogmind promises 12 multiplayer levels at launch and more in post-release updates. The (physics-based) gameplay and mechanics in these levels is the same as in the single-player mode.
Badland consists of four sections: Dawn, Noon, Dusk, and Night. You control one of the inhabitants of a gorgeous forest who sets out to investigate a disturbing development. Each section of the game contains 10 levels (for a total of 40) and different power-ups, like the ability to change size or create clones.
Frogmind announced Badland back in July.
