After a long wait, preordering is finally available for Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition. The game releases for PC and Mac on November 15 and costs $25.
Beamdog and Overhaul Games remastered the first Baldur's Gate in November 2012, so it's been a year. It's also taken a little longer to get the game to iOS and Mac, and it's still not out on Android. The date for that is to-be-determined.
Overhaul and Atari spent some time working through legal issues, which forced the former company to pull the title from the App Store and its website while Atari kept sales going through its own site. So it's been a bit of a hairy release process.
BioWare originally created the role-playing game series. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn first came out in 2000. This new version includes four new party members, each with their own quests; the expansion Throne of Bhaal; and the arena challenge The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay.
Release dates for iOS and Android have yet to be announced.
