Baldur’s Gate 3 out on Steam Early Access next month, Gets new gameplay video

A modern classic approaches

Larian Studios has revealed the new release date for Baldur’s Gate 3. The return of one of the most influential RPGs ever is slated to arrive on September 30th on Steam in Early Access. You can watch the recent Panel from Hell talk to learn and see more about the game, but beware, it’s over 90mins long.

After scaring fans with a delay who have been waiting decades for a new Baldur’s Gate title, Larian has great news. With just a meager one-month delay, Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally launching next month.

That’ll be far from the end of the game’s saga, however, as the developer has decided to launch their game in Early Access. This means it won’t feature the entire breadth of content right from the start and instead add and improve as time goes on.

Still, with massive amounts of content including 80 combat encounters, over 40,000 lines of dialog, close to 600 characters, and a whopping 146 spells/actions the Early Access package alone ought to offer more content than many fully-featured RPGs.

Besides a sweet CG segment early on, the panel also has a world-premier in the form of an interaction with an Intellect Devourer. No, Baldur’s Gate 3 does not feature Reality TV. We’re talking about an actual lifeform in the shape of a brain. It’s as crazy as it sounds.

Given Larian Studios’ outstanding track record with the brilliant Divinity Original Sin series, it’s only fair to assume that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be a triumphant return not only for the dormant IP but the genre as a whole.
