Batfish Studios Closes; Captain Scarlet Title Cancelled

Batfish Studios Closes; Captain
Scarlet Title Cancelled

Real-time
strategy game, Retaliation, completed but publisher won’t release it

On October
15, Batfish Studios closed its office, citing reasons that the development team
did not have a "suitable project and in the current climate it wasn’t possible
to continue working speculatively." However, before the office was closed, the
team had completed the release candidate for Captain Scarlet: Retaliation.

According to
a post from Philip Harris of Team Batfish on a post on

http://www.batbudgie.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=112
: "The release candidate
of the final game and two demos were delivered to our publisher Digital Workshop
on the 15th October. However, I was informed on 7th November that they will not
be publishing the game.

"I would to like to thank everyone here for their support, I can assure you that
we are as disappointed as you are but both companies have tried to come up with
a workable solution and failed."

Harris noted
that gamers who had pre-ordered the title will likely be contacted by Digital
Workshop regarding the order.
