Batman: Arkham Knight reviews for PC delayed

PC players will have to wait a little longer to get the final word

So far, reviews for Batman: Arkham Knight have been overwhelmingly positive. The Batman brand and Rocksteady's history with the franchise have made the game as safe a bet as any new release this year, which has resulted in a large number of pre-orders. However, it is worth noting that the current review scores only reflect the PS4 version version of the game, which may leave PC gamers in particular, a bit nervous.

Poor PC ports are commonplace, and Rocksteady's last entry, Arkham City, had its fair share of issues, namely with drops in framerate with Direct X11 support. Arkham Knight's recommended system requirements, are quite hefty, and even more so on Ultra. Rocksteady did eventually clean up all of the launch issues Arkham City had, but like with any new game these days, there's no way to really know what they will be until the masses get their hands on it.

This is not the first time that review codes have only gone to the PS4 platform as last month's big behemoth, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was the same way. Despite that game's technical issues across all platforms, it has still proven to be arguably the best game to release this generation.

This is not to say that PC players should avoid playing Arkham Knight on launch. It's understandable to be a bit more cautious these days with game launches, but that shouldn't deter anyone from reveling in what is sure to be a very exciting end to one of the best super hero game franchises of all time. Batman Arkham Knight releases next week, June 23, 2015 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
