It looks like a new Batman game is coming. Warner Bros. Games Montreal has tweeted a mysterious message leading to a website with a countdown for tomorrow. Stay tuned.
All signs are sure pointing towards the wait for a new caped crusader adventure coming to end. It has been an unbelievable five years since the last time Warner Bros. graced us with a video game in the excellent Batman Arkham series.
Last year Warner Bros. Montreal studio teased something Batman-related and it was quickly deciphered that whatever was being teased, it was going to be an adaption of the Court of Owls comic storyline.
We did hope to get the reveal of the new Batman game back then but alas. It took pretty much an entire year of radio silence for new details to surface. Long wait or not, we’re finally going to learn more tomorrow. With DC FanDome just around the corner this Saturday, we not expecting a full-on reveal for tomorrow but at least something.
Warner Bros. Montreal is probably best known for Batman Arkham Origins and has proven to be capable of carrying the torch of the franchise from Rocksteady. Rocksteady is currently occupied a Suicide Squad game as teased just earlier this month. You can expect to see that one also being formally unveiled during this weekend DC FanDome digital event.
With not one but two major game reveals set in the DC universe coming so soon, it sure is a nice time for gamers and comic book fans alike. And with Marvel’s Avengers launching next month, it’s great to see superheroes make a return to gaming in the AAA genre.
