Watching Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters will have you sitting on your rear-end for over two and a half hours, but it looks like the Blu-Ray version will be even longer and carry a heavier rating.
According to the MPAA, the special Blu-Ray release of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition' will have an R-rating and will push the runtime to around three hours.
What the extra thirty minutes of scenes will reveal has remained a mystery, but we do know what has raised the film's rating in this version of the film. No, it's not sex that raised the rating, it's the “sequences of violence” that have been added to the film. Of course, the theatrical version of the film will still be released for those of you that prefer the PG-13 version.
It's unclear whether Deadpool's R-rated success paved the way for this or not.
Batman v Superman is set to release on March 25th with a PG-13 rating.
