Batman v Superman director addresses concerns over trailer’s spoiler

Spoilers, obviously.

When the second full-length trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice released (as seen above), many complained that the trailer had spoiled too much of the film. Their main reasoning? Because Doomsday was revealed towards the end of the trailer.

Director Zack Snyder has said that while the community has seen some of the movie's trailers as spoilers, there are still plenty well-kept secrets for the film. Recently, Snyder commented on why he chose to reveal Doomsday.

It appears as though, Snyder's reveal of Doomsday was to show that the world is bigger than Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor, that there are plenty of villains to combat the growing number of heroes.

"To us it really made sense to give [Doomsday] to the audience now," said Snyder during an interview with The Daily Beast. "I really wanted to make the audience a promise that–though I'm super excited and happy and fulfilled by the conflict of Batman and Superman–there's also a bigger world to start to think about.

"We had a long conversation about just taking ownership of that, of giving it to the audience in a controlled way that I felt was consistent with the escalation of the campaign."

Snyder's statement almost suggests that there is another villain, besides the two revealed – which might be a spoiler in and of itself. Whether or not the trailers revealed too much of the film will only be known when the film actually releases on March 24th, 2016.
