Battleborn’s price drops by $20

Beginning this evening at 7pm EST, king of hero shooters Overwatch will become available to those in North America. However, Gearbox Software is looking to make a dent in the game’s sales it seems, as they have just dropped the price of Battleborn to 40 dollars. Yep, Battleborn; a game that is only 3 weeks old. Overwatch fired first by releasing its beta the weekend Battleborn went on sale, and it seems Gearbox has replied in kind. Although one can’t help but feel like this is a somewhat desperate move.

Battleborn has sold moderately well so far, Gearbox stating that its sales surpass the original Borderlands in the same amount of time. However, with almost 10 million people having played the Overwatch beta, it’s clear that there’s a lot more Battleborn could be doing to increase its footprint.

The discount is for both digital and retail versions of the game, with the digital deluxe edition that usually goes for 75 dollars also down to that price.
