Battleborn taking registration for closed beta

Battleborn, Gearbox’s new hypersaturated burly brawl of an FPS, is entering closed beta in a couple of weeks and is looking for players to register for testing. Starting on October 29th the beta testing will start for PC, PS4 and XB1 and interested players are asked to register via the Battleborn RSVP site.

To participate, you’ll need to have a SHiFT account and be mindful that “does not guarantee participation and those selected will need to make sure they have 4-8GB of space available on their platform of choice,” but we have a feeling this one is going to sneak up on people in the same way the first Borderlands did, so this is a great way to get a taste of what’s in store for players.

The game itself features 25 different playable characters with varying abilities, attacks and weapons. While primarily an FPS, the campaign mode also allows for switching into third-person and features the same vein of over the top comic style graphics that are so iconic to the Borderlands franchise.

Battleborn will release on PC, PS4 and XB1 on February 9th.
