Developer DICE has announced something new for Battlefield 1, but perhaps not in a way you were expecting. The game had a number of DLC packs released and planned, including one called They Shall Not Pass. It added a number of maps to the multiplayer shooter. But we've just learned that one map, in particular, will be made free for everyone that owns the base game.
The map in question is called Nivelle Nights. It takes place at night in northern France. As mentioned, it was previously exclusive to those with the They Shall Not Pass DLC or the Premium Pass, which gives access to all Battlefield 1 DLC released.
We'll be seeing this map drop into the general populous in "early November" according to DICE. Also coming in November is Battlefield 1's new Operations Campaigns.
After this, Battlefield 1 apparently continues their full-steam-ahead approach to the holiday season with a new DLC pack called Turning Tides, slated for December. The DLC will include new maps, two new vehicles (the L-Class Destroyer and L-Class Airship), and a new Elite class called the Infiltrator. It also includes a new Operation, new specializations, service assignments and more.
Turning Tides will be the third DLC pack for Battlefield 1, with plans for one more, currently unannounced, in early 2018. The latest DLC before this was In The Name of the Tsar.
