Battlefield 1 getting a free trial this weekend on PC and Xbox One

DICE is looking for some new recruits to put on the frontlines of Battlefield 1 and to get people hooked they are offering a free trial of the game this upcoming weekend on both PC and Xbox One.

First announced on the Battlefield Blog, DICE and EA will be hosting a timed free trial of the WWI shooter for PC and Xbox One, PlayStation 4 owners will have to sit this one out, unfortunately. Even though a trial will be available on the two platforms the free trials differ quite a bit, not even the starting times are the same.

Details for both platforms follows bellow:

Xbox One

Xbox One owners will get the trial as part of the reoccurring Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days and those days go from 9 AM PT, March 3 through 11:59 PM PT, March 5. Xbox players will have access to the full game, every multiplayer map, and mode as well as the whole singleplayer story. All Achievements players unlock during the trial are theirs to keep and all progress is saved for when they decide to buy the full game.

PC

PC players will get a bit less of a premium trial, it will even be time limited. The PC trial will go from March 3, 5 AM PT and March 6, 10 AM PT. Unlike the Xbox One trial, the one on PC will only give players access to 10 hours of the game, 4 modes and 5 maps in multiplayer, and only two of the War Stories in singleplayer are accessible.

This is the perfect time to try out Battlefield 1 since it is on sale on Xbox on Deals with Gold and on EA Origin. The word is that PC players can get an even bigger discount on Battlefield 1 than the current sale if they use the Origin Access trial, that way they get the sale price plus a ten percent discount. But don't take our word for it for we have not tried it ourselves.

In other Battlefield 1 news, the first DLC pack for Battlefield 1, They Shall Not Pass, is coming this March and with it a cheeky Dark Souls easter egg. With the They Shall Not Pass DLC nearing its release DICE also revealed what to expect in their second DLC pack containing the Russians has been detailed.
