Battlefield 1 has nearly 6 times more players online than Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2 could suffer from fall release date.

Titanfall 2 is getting high praise from fans and critics due to its fantastic campaign and fun gameplay however, the game may suffer from the crowded holiday season. EA's other mainstream shooter, Battlefield 1, is already clobbering the game in terms of player count.

A Twitter user showed the player counts of the two games on all three platforms and Battlefield 1 has roughly six times more players than Battlefield 1. Battlefield 1 has over 427,000 players while Titanfall 2 sits at a mere 73,000. Of course, Titanfall released on Friday and Battlefield released about two weeks ago so Battlefield 1 would have an advantage but even during the early access period Battlefield 1 had, the game garnered more players.

On October 18th, a $80 edition of Battlefield was released which allowed players to play three days prior to the official launch and it was able to gain over 90,000 players at one point. It appears that maybe releasing Titanfall 2 right after Battlefield 1 wasn't EA's smartest choice and they will probably continue to see how much of a poor choice it was when Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases this upcoming Friday.

Titanfall 2's player count numbers can be viewed in-game while Battlefield 1's can be seen at this website.
