Gamespy is a matchmaking service for online games, it's a service that you may have been using without even knowing, and it's a service that's about to go away.
Come next month, (exact date: May 31st) Gamespy is shutting down.
Arma (1, 2, & Cold War), Borderlands, Saints Row 2, Star Wars Battlefront (1 & 2) and so many other games use this service. Based on a set of Tweets between the official Origin account and Tofu Games, it looks like Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 will be spared from the shutdown!
@Tofugames We're working on transitioning those games after the shut down so you'll still be able to play them.
