Battlefield 3 Premium a success for EA

Call of Duty's Elite service could be viewed as a failure of sorts, eventually going completely free once Black Ops 2 came out. Battlefield 3 Premium however seems to have worked out in EA's favor. The service has a one time cost of $49.99, unlike Elite's monthly rate, and includes a host of extras that are valued way beyond its value.

EA has reported that Battlefield 3 Premium has generated over $108 in sales through the third quarter alone and has 2.9 million subscriptions to date. Not too shabby!

The Premium service not only includes five expansion packs, with End Game coming out in March, players get access to various Battlelog features like stat resets, increased platoon emblem layers and and 10+ unique platoon emblem decals.
