Battlefield 4 open beta date announced

In a post revealing the next-gen release for Battlefield 4 (as well as two other blockbuster titles, FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25), EA COO Peter Moore also confirmed open beta for DICE's highly anticipated shooter.

Open beta for BF4 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC will start on October 1st, about a full month before its official October 29th launch. It features the Conquest mode on the Siege of Shanghai map. Exclusive early access to the beta, according to EA, is open to:

  • Anyone pre-ordered the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition from Origin.com
  • Battlefield 3: Premium members
  • Registered owners of the Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition

EA hasn't yet announced when early access to Battlefield 4's beta will begin, though. And remember, anyone who gets Battlefield 4 on current-gen consoles will be eligible to upgrade to the next-gen PS4 or Xbox One version for just $10.
