Battlefield V gets first reveal trailer; No more paid DLC/Premium Passes

Battlefield is by far one of the most epic shooters out there right now with its unparalleled destruction, massive scale battles, and all-out warfare. In 2016, we left the modern era of war to go back to one of the deadliest wars of all-time, World War I. Now in 2018 with Battlefield V, we’ll be entering one of the most unforgiving eras in history.

On October 19th, EA and DICE will be releasing Battlefield V, a new take on World War II. We’ve had World War II Battlefield and Call of Duty games but it’s nothing like this. With the technology and formula DICE has at their disposal, this will be one of the grandest and brutal World War II games ever made.

DICE has completely outdone themselves by overhauling their movement system with the ability to lay on your back and open fire (similar to Rainbow Six Siege) as well as slide across the ground, refined gunplay and the destruction, significant customization options such as face paint, and much more to make the ultimate Battlefield game with Battlefield V.

Furthermore, DICE is doing away with the season pass this time around and making all future maps and content post-launch free to everyone. No more split player base, everyone has the exact same game and will always have access to the same content. This is a first for Battlefield in this DLC heavy era as the series has always featured a season pass/Premium Pass which gave you exclusive perks and access to all map packs.

You can get a taste of what Battlefield V has to offer in the new reveal trailer which appears to be in-engine, at the very least. It’s unclear if any of it is authentic gameplay but it should give you an idea of what DICE is aiming for in the final product. Fans attending E3 in two weeks will get to go hands-on with the game for themselves so we’ll get to see just how close that trailer represents the final game.

Battlefield V will release on October 19th, 2018 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Xbox One and PC players who subscribe to EA/Origin Access will get early access to the game on October 11th
