BD Wong would love to return and die in Jurassic World sequel

The Jurassic Park series has made it clear that a glaring lack of literacy in Greek classics has created a blind spot in hubris when it comes to the ability to make dollars out of dinosaurs. And thank the Pantheon for that, otherwise we’d never get quotes about Unix systems or adorable raptor squads. This capitalist oversight is sure to be a driving plot point when the movies return to theaters in 2018.

While Bryce Dallas Howard’s heels might not be returning, BD Wong would like to. Hoping to expand his role as the franchise’s resident geneticist and mad scientist, Dr. Wu, Wong spoke about wanting to see the character continue in the vein he was presented as in the book.

22 years after his initial debut, Wong’s Wu maintained his blasé approach to ethics with regards to his research and creations in Jurassic World, but the actor recalled the disappointment after the minimization the character underwent in the first film, “I enjoyed being chosen to play this part that I perceived at the time to be a really big part. Because when we auditioned for the movie, we auditioned scenes from the book, and so all indications would be that you were going to have a really hefty part. The part plays rather large in the original novel. And so imagine my surprise when I was booked for like two days or one day on a movie. And I was really confused by it.”

Wong continued by exclaiming he would love to not only return for World’s sequel, but wouldn’t mind seeing the character killed off in a spectacular way, a reasonably easy feat for films about dinosaurs running amok, “I would think that would be really fun. It would be fun to have a great death. Might as well go for it: Ask for a great death if you’re going to be the villain! And I don’t see why not. I have no other knowledge other than that, but I can’t see why not.”
