Beam App hits Xbox One for Xbox Insiders today

Microsoft has steadily been working their way towards the release of the Creators Update for Xbox One through a series of updates for Preview Program Insiders to test out. The latest update has arrived on the Xbox One and it's bringing Beam with it.

As of today, Xbox Insiders will be able to test out the Beam app, which will allow Insiders the ability to watch, chat, and interact with their favorite game streamers in near real-time. The app will also allow Insiders to browse, search and follow top streamers while earning Sparks and Experience Points (XP) while watching them.

In the Beam app, Sparks are a form of in-app currency that allows app users to "interact with streamers, unlock new emotes, get XP boosters, and more." Every minute spent watching a stream earns users two Sparks. Experience Points allow users to gauge how much they've watched streams, five minutes watching a stream earns you 10 XP.

The Beam app will be rolling out to Insiders, so not all Insiders will see that app available to them today.
