Ben Affleck Officially Confirmed To Direct A Batman Film

Surprise!

Batman v Superman was pretty much hated by the majority of critics on all fronts. One thing all the critics could agree on was the amazing performance of Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne and his counterpart, Batman.

Rumors have been brewing for months that Ben Affleck was being eyed to direct himself in a standalone Batman film (as well as act as Batman) coming in the near future, and more recently it has been said he even finished a complete first draft of the script! So, if that didn't pretty much confirm he was heavily involved with the process of the film, Warner Bros. has confirmed Ben Affleck will be directing the film adaptation of the caped crusader.

Today at CinemaCon, studio head at Warner Bros. Kevin Tsujihara officially confirmed the existence of the solo Batman film that will be directed by Ben Affleck. Ben Affleck isn't unfamiliar with acting as a director, Affleck has won Oscars for his creative contributions on films like Good Will Hunting and Argo. Hopefully, Affleck can create a film that rivals Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

In other DC news, Justice League Part One began filming today with Zack Snyder at the helm. If you can't wait to see more of Affleck in the shoes of The Dark Knight, you won't have to wait long. Ben Affleck will appear as Batman in Suicide Squad which releases in August and again in Justice League Part One releasing in November of next year.
